Heather holds a BSc in Earth Sciences and Biology from the University of Waikato, and has more than 20 years’ experience.

Her core skills include testing for contaminants in ground and surface waters, coastal and riverine water quality sampling and obtaining stream and river flow volumes.  Heather’s work includes monitoring of groundwater, geothermal water, lakes, springs and rivers, as well as soil and vegetation sampling for contaminants. 

Heather has been working in the investigation, assessment and remediation of soils on HAIL (Hazardous Activities and Industries List) or contaminated sites since the inception of the current National Environmental Standards (NESCS) in January 2011. She undertakes assessments on a wide variety of sites, including orchards, commercial and industrial sites. Should contaminants be found that require it, she compiles remediation action plans to meet the requirements for the National Environmental Standard for Assessing and Managing Contaminants in Soil to Protect Human Health.

Through her membership with WasteMINZ (the authoritative voice on waste, resource recovery and contaminated land management in New Zealand), and ALGA (Australasian Land and Groundwater Association), Heather has access to a wide range of technical expertise and best practice, ensuring we give the most practical advice to our clients.
