Reade holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Science and a Bachelor of Laws focussed on Environmental Laws from the University of Waikato. This has provided him with a strong understanding of both Environmental Science and the corresponding legal framework.
Reade began his career with a large international engineering consultancy, undergoing rigorous training in hazardous site safety and contaminated site investigations. He has conducted environmental monitoring, investigations, and remediation projects of varying scale, risk and levels of public exposure throughout New Zealand.
His work involves Preliminary and Detailed Site Investigations, preparation of Site Management and Remedial Action Plans, and supervision of remedial works on a range of HAIL sites including agricultural, horticultural, landfill, historic gas works, petrochemical, explosives manufacturing, mining and quarrying, industrial, airports, transport depots, infrastructure, and residential or commercial development projects.
Reade has been involved in high-profile disaster response efforts, providing engineering geology advice to the Natural Hazard Commission Toka Tū Ake following the Canterbury and Kaikoura earthquake sequences, recent cyclones and other storm events. His professional journey also includes experience in property insurance loss adjusting; providing assessment and project management services following large-scale natural disaster events in New Zealand and Australia.
Reade joins NZ Environmental Management with a sense of pride and passion for sustainable environmental management. As a member of WasteMINZ, he stays current with evolving regulations and best practices to address complex contamination issues, support environmental protection and ensure project success.
